Designed specifically for pensioners, ANZ Pensioner Advantage offers the simplest way to interest when you deposit your eligible pension or allowance into your account while paying no monthly account service fees.
What’s great?
The ANZ Pensioner Advantage account is paired with an ANZ Visa Debit card. You'll be able to access your bank account funds anywhere Visa is accepted. Additionally, it's equipped with accessibility features for vision-impaired customers which is perfect for pensioners.
No Monthly Fees
There's no monthly account service fee for the ANZ Pensioner Advantage account or its debit card. This can help you save day-to-day, allowing you to put your money towards something you want. Along with this feature is the unlimited ANZ Transactions per month, helping you to save even more.
Simple way to earn interest!
ANZ Pensioner Advantage is quite generous in allowing cardholders to earn interest from their balances. This features a banded rate of interest which means that different rates of interest apply to different parts of your account balance. Deposit your eligible pension or allowance into your account to earn 0.05% p.a. interest for balances under $10,000, 1.90% p.a. on balances between $10,000 and $50,000, and 2.50% p.a. on balances over $50,000.
Eligible pensions and allowances include:
- Aged pension
- Disability Support pension
- Widow’s pension or allowance
- Wife’s pension
- Carer’s pension
- Sole parent’s pension
- Service pension
- Incentive Allowance
- Newstart Allowance (including Mature Age Allowance and Mature Age Partner Allowance)
- Sickness allowance
- Special Benefit allowance
- Partner allowance
- Parenting allowance

First up, this is a Visa card. That means it can be used anywhere Visa is accepted worldwide. This makes it super easy to pay for stuff online and in person. Of course, you can also make use of Visa’s PayWave feature, allowing you to tap and go for purchases under $100.Access to Bank 24/7 with ANZ ATMs, EFTPOS, ANZ Internet Banking, ANZ App, and ANZ Phone Banking.
Compatibility
The ANZ Visa Debit card is compatible with a range of digital wallets including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay, and Garmin Pay.

When you bank with ANZ, you will have simple and convenient features to help you manage your finances through the ANZ App. The ANZ app gives you complete control of your money, 24/7. Using the app with the ANZ Spendi feature, you can monitor and manage your daily spending.
What’s worth considering?
While the ANZ Pensioner Advantage helps you save on monthly fees, there are other fees to consider and eligibility criteria apply when you get a ANZ Access Visa Debit card. You can also consider optimising your savings by linking it to a savings account.
Why should you choose it?
If you want to access your money without paying any ongoing fees plus having features to help you manage your account, the ANZ Pensioner Advantage is a good option with decent all-rounder features. It offers good security, a user-friendly app with plenty of features, while helping you save on ongoing monthly fees.

January 9, 2023Hi , Can I use my ANZ Pensioner Advantage Card overseas – Europe – ? How much are the fees and exchange rate for purchases? We are leaving end of April. Maria and Hans Thank you
admin
January 11, 2023Hi Maria and Hans! Yes, you can use your ANZ Pensioner Advantage card anywhere where a Visa card is accepted but you’ll cop a 3% foreign transaction fee for the privilege. As for the exchange rate though, it’ll be determined by ANZ at the time of the transaction. Have a great time in Europe!
